The Next Station - Poems

The challenge: 60 stations on the Tyne and Wear Metro. Write one short poem for each station.


I've taken writing inspiration variously from the architecture or art installations of stations, the history or perhaps interesting trivia of the immediate area, or sometimes specific memories or moments related to a particular stop along the Metro lines.


As they are written, on a rolling basis, most of the poems will be debuted at the Open Platform open mic in Whitley Bay, run by Yellow Line Poetry, so come along to hear about my progress.
